This phalaenopsis orchid was purchased for my wife, Mema, on Mother’s Day. When I bought it, I didn’t realize that a stem of flowers had broken off. I trimmed the broken stake and enjoyed one stem of flowers for few weeks.
After 4 months of care, the orchid has bloomed again. This is my first experience with orchids and I was pleasantly surprised when it showed signs of new stake growth. A month into bringing home the plant, I repotted it into a ceramic pot with moss media. I watered and fertilized the orchid with a weekly routine. I am confident the watering routine and the bright indirect summer light contributed to the blooming of the flowers. It’s truly amazing to see how plants grow with attentive care.
